AfriConnections lands at Gare Maritime
African Contemporary Art
Brussels Airlines brings AfriConnections exhibition to Brussels
After a successful journey across Africa, Brussels Airlines’ travelling contemporary African art exhibition, AfriConnections, has arrived in Brussels for its final stop. Having previously been showcased in Kinshasa, Abidjan, Yaoundé and Dakar, the exhibition now concludes its 2026 tour at Tour & Taxis (Gare Maritime), offering visitors a unique opportunity to discover the richness and diversity of contemporary African art.
Created as a cultural bridge between Africa and Europe, AfriConnections brings together works from 15 contemporary African artists, including several internationally acclaimed names. The artworks are part of the collection of the renowned Ifitry Artists' Residency, a creative hub dedicated to artistic exchange, experimentation and dialogue.
Connecting Cultures Beyond Air Travel
With AfriConnections, Brussels Airlines highlights how its long-standing links with Africa extend far beyond aviation. For more than a century, the airline has been connecting Belgium and the African continent, fostering not only travel but also cultural, economic and human exchange.
The exhibition was conceived with a strong ambition: to promote the circulation of contemporary African art across Africa before bringing it to Europe for its final chapter. Open to all and free of charge, AfriConnections invites visitors to discover inspiring artistic perspectives from across the continent.
Alongside the exhibition, Brussels Airlines continues to celebrate African creativity through its Art & Design campaign, featuring a series of digital stories spotlighting African artists and their work.
