Brussels Airlines to transport 1 mio. passengers
During upcoming holidays

Brussels Airlines is gearing up for the Belgian Easter and spring holidays, expecting to transport approximately 1 million passengers throughout the season. The airline, the fastest-growing carrier within the Lufthansa Group, has increased its capacity by 20% compared to the same period in 2024.
Belgian schools take their Easter break in two waves: Dutch-speaking schools will have their holidays from Saturday, April 5, to Monday, April 21, while French-speaking schools will be on Spring break from Saturday, April 26, to Sunday, May 11. During each wave, Brussels Airlines anticipates flying around 500,000 passengers.
As part of its ambitious growth strategy, Brussels Airlines has expanded its fleet since Easter 2024. The airline has added an extra long-haul Airbus 330, an additional Airbus 320 for its European network, and contracted a wet lease of four Airbus 220 aircraft, which will operate on behalf of Brussels Airlines until the end of the IATA summer season. These additions contribute to the airline’s overall 20% capacity increase compared to last year.
This growth allows Brussels Airlines to enhance its network by adding new destinations and increasing frequencies on existing routes. Notably, on the first day of the holiday period, the airline will introduce a new destination to its network: Funchal (Madeira).
The top five destinations for Belgian travelers these Easter and Spring breaks are Malaga, Barcelona, Rome, Lisbon, and Madrid.
